Rise of the Planet of the Apes 2011

I'm here for another movie review!

Image taken from here

Starring: James Franco, Freida Pinto, David Oyelowo, John Lithgow

I did not planned to watch this, but after reading a few positive comments from friends, I decided to join the gang in the cinema. Turns out, not bad!

I love how they did the apes thingy! I learn from here that all the apes were created digitally by Weta Digital using motion capture. And the main apes, Caesar, he's really smart and looks like human being in certain ways. Is it true that human evolved from monkey?

Anyway, not much love stuff in this movie but quite alot of actions in the end. Overall, I'd give a personal rating of 4/5.

  1. i've seen the ads along the highway but i don't think i'll be watching it. i don't enjoy watching science fiction movies :P

  2. I watched the older version and found it not bad.

Not sure whether will watch this newer one, all depends on my availability :p

  3. they keep on coming up with remake of old movies, of course with improvement. the old ape was real actor. so this time they improve with modern technology.
man from ape? nah.. no way my ancestor are from ape.

  4. I saw the ad on TV and I really want to watch it. But too bad, Indon stop importing foreign movies especially box office movies from US. Guess we have to buy DVD already lor.

  5. The late Charles darwin "might be happy" with this movie as if someone is endorsing his theory but if you looked at some human monkey behaviors which can rivalled or more mischievous than our "cousin", i guess if we truly found out we're of monkey roots & not of god's creation, we'll be damned & not happy!!!

  6. Also notice the "welcome & thanks for visiting flying banner" - nice!

  7. I remember watching the television series when I was young. Maybe this round I will bring my kids to see...

  8. wow! thnx for the tips... I will buy the DVD ;)

  9. I think if got chance I will watch this since . . . I like the trailer and how apes crush the earth haha

  10. wow, looks like you've been watching quite a lot of movies and quite frequently recently huh??

  11. Barb, oh then what kinda movie you like? ^^

Yvonne, I thought you watched it already since you're always in the 'front line' :P

Johnnie, yes technology is getting advanced, no need human being with make up anymore.

    Mummy Gwen, oh that's saddening!

    Robinson, haha thanks!

Pete, ya perhaps kids will love it!

    Venie, no problem!

Kian Fai, well why not you cut short your Ramadhan meal and watch a movie instead! LOL

SK, just so coincident that there're great blockbuster recently...

  12. Never missed the series of Apes movies in the past. Got something in common Bananaz & Apes hehe.

  13. Bananaz, something in common? Haha :P

  14. You actually like this movie huh? Hmmm maybe I should check it out too then!

  15. yoo u r so fast!!! i wish to watch too! i juz completed HP7! looking forward for tis weekend!

  16. After watching its trailer I also don't think i gonna watch it... the animatronic effect didn't turn out so real I reckon. But since you said it's not bad, I should at least watch the DVD version.;D

  17. I dont think I wanna bring Ethan watch this show as the apes are rather garang @_@

  18. Shirlexia, well to me, at least it's great. Dare not promise you much as I think you're more picky when it comes to movies, LOL.

珊姑娘, oh contraty with you, I dint watch any of HP installments, heheh :P

Alice, LOL. Am I so convincing?

Merryn, LOL. May be not so suitable for kids at his age.

  19. Hi hayley,
sounds like a very interesting movie. I'll definitely will list this movie into my shopping list.

    Have a nice day yeah?

  20. Somehow I don't fancy these apes movies since I was a kid, will be skipping this. How about cowboys and aliens?

  21. Was supposed to watch with colleagues but have to let it go cos I need to do OT yesterday =.= Sien!

  22. Willie, yes quite interesting!

ChrisAu, from the trailer, cowboy and aliens looks like a nice action movie too!

    YT, nvm, more chances coming!

2D1N Hatyai trip

I have been to Hatyai many times and I am not bored of it yet, haha!! xD
It's one of my favorite place to go, I mean considering the fact that I can't really travel oversea at the moment (no money and no time).
But traveling to Hatyai is still consider 'oversea' la right? 😆 It's just that we go there by car instead of plane.... Just 2 hours plus to reach kastam, almost like from Taiping to KL.

We had a short getaway to Hatyai last month, it was 2 days after the Songkran festival. We tagged Aden and Toby along so hubby suggested to avoid that festival.

Journey was smooth from Taiping all the way to the kastam, just the queue at the kastam was a bit tiring. We managed to check in early, lucky!

We stayed at Grand Pink hotel, I simply love this hotel because the room is big and clean! Staff service is nice too! Highly recommended, heard it's been refurnished lately. It's located next to Lee Garden Plaza so it's easy to find!
I also love the spacious bathro…

好久好久没来篇像样的华语post咯! 今天就算牺牲美容觉也得呕出一篇来回馈我亲爱的读者朋友们,我知道有时看太多鸡肠对眼睛不好 xDD 怎样,我抵錫吗?:p
Hmm

BFF trip to Bangkok 2013: The food post

Bangkok is not only a heaven for the men shopping but also food! I've actually Google and blog hopping beforehand to see what's worth to eat at Bangkok, can only chose the most popular ones as we were there for only 4 days 3 nights, a very rush trip.
I've filtered out those food we ate during the trip which I think worth mentioning.
@ Food court, Platinum Mall Green curry chicken rice
Beef noodles
Fruit crepe
The food court is so big here in Platinum Mall, hundreds of tables are provided but almost all are occupied.

Dessert @ Swensen, Platinum Mall

(pale looking face, first day after touching down) Swensen is not in my itinerary, we decided to go here instead of Mr Jones Orphanage at Siam Center cause of the location. Siam Center is further away from where we stay, but Platinum Mall is just about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. End up, no regrets! Much cheaper and yummier compared to Malaysia.

T&K seafood, Chinatown  (It's easier to get here by metered cab)

By far…
