Almost done

Monday is here, which means CNY is just 2 days to go!! :0

So far, I've done with my
CNY shopping,
spring clean my room,
went for a full body massage,
did manicure and pedicure,

purple gelish color for my nails and black+blue for my toes ;)

and a hair spa treatment...

Just one more thing I need to do, preparing ang pao.... =_= Yep, this is the 1st year I distribute ang pao to relatives and friends. Not sure how to describe my feeling now, excited? LOL :D
With all these, I think I'm ready to welcome the year of Rabbit. Now lets pray that my office works will be smooth and no more problems coming.....

While people are all excited and happy to welcome CNY, I suddenly lost the mood... :(
Anyway, no worries, I'm alright, just need to rant abit :P

Apart from the tension from works, I was informed that I won something from Vintages Noise!
Yea, the blog owner, Ming, picked me as one of her winner for her blog giveaway.

everybody loves free gifts!

it's a dreamcatcher! I never know whats a dreamcatcher until I read from her blog, LOL :P

Thank you Ming for the lovely gift! ;)
Til then, wishing you a great weekend! ^^

Clothes in the year of Rabbit

I have not been updating very frequently these few days... works have been very busy! I'd say this early 2011 is indeed not a very good start for me.. =_=

Anyway, CNY is less than a week to go!! Since most of the blogger friends shared their CNY shopping loots, I feel like doing the same too :P
I got the least CNY clothes this time around, not sure why but just not in the mood of buying.. perhaps the different fashion taste? Nonetheless, since its CNY so die die also must buy at least one piece la right! *wink*

clockwise from top left: black spagethi layered top from Kitschen, pink flowery top from Sg Wang, purple ruffled top from an online boutique

clockwise from left: dark flowery top/dress, bear bear printed white top, white tee printed with pretty gals and camera (all from my recent Hadyai trip, with great bargain :P)

gladiator high heels and khakis short pant, both from Sg Wang KL

Well, thats my CNY clothes and shoes! I dint stock up on any new cosmetics or skin care products this time around /boo
But its alright as I really got more than enough of them to use...
Apart from clothing, I bought something new for my room.......
..
..
..

an Ogawa air humidifier, LOL :D

I bought this after reading an article on how to avoid blocked/stuffy nose every morning. yes, I used to wake up feeling very sick because of my allergic nose.
after about 2 weeks of switching the air humidifier, my stuffy nose condition actually improves ;)
and I sneeze less too! (touchwood touchwood)

2D1N up North

As mentioned, I was away during the weekend to the Southern part of Thailand, Hadyai. It was a short trip, but a fun one!
Before I proceed, let me tell you that I dint snap any food photos this time, because I was eating with in laws, and a group of their friends... so, paiseh lo... :P

left house early morning and we reached the border without much hassle! lunch was chicken rice at the famous Tai Thong kopitiam

after checked in, it was individual activity time! hubby and I walked around the city area, and I dint forget to eat my all time favourite Swensen ice cream!! :))

after dinner, we walked to the nearest foot massage center and enjoyed the 1 hour relaxing foot massage! it was only 250 baht (RM25)!

a bowl of leng chee kang which cost RM5

The next morning, we took tut tut and shopped at the big market...
not much change though

That pretty much summarised my short getaway to Hadyai! and here's my shopping loots:

BDS charity event

Black Dog Society (BDS) organized a charity event over the weekend, we visited the Taiping old folks home and orphanage. we collected money from friends around and some of the members bought all the necessities in advance.

It was early morning when we gathered.....

there're food, adult pampers and other daily necessities... we also collected some old clothes for the elderly and kids

before we proceeded, its a procedure to register 1st, we need to write down our names and things we brought

we dint manage to visit the elderly individually, because we dint know that we'd need an authorisation letter.... So, we passed all the things to the officer. now we know what to do the next time we visit them!

a group photo of us

Our next stop is the orphanage, which is situated just beside the old folks home.

for the orphanage, we bought more candies and snacks ;)

same thing, we need to register 1st...

another group photo of us

last but not least, this is the proof that we donated these things to the elderly and orphanage. once again, BDS thanked everyone who contributed in terms of cash or goodies.

We are planning another visit and this time, we'll prepare the documents needed and hope to spend some time chatting and knowing the elderly/orphanage.
Its always the best to do good thing so that we'll receive good karma ;) 善有善报

Great day (天天好天) 2011

Starring: Jack Lim, Wan Wai Fun, Royce,Vivian, Jiang Han

Another local movie after Woohoo, another Malaysia Boleh movie, LOL :D

I've been waiting to watch this movie, as I heard alot of positive reviews about it, about how touching and funny it is... It was last night when I watched it in the cinema and to my surprise, the cinema was almost full house! I dint expect the crowd as it was a weekday night and I thought not many people would watch a local chinese movie but I was so wrong, haha :P

Back to the topic, the movie is about showing care and love to our parents, and what parents will do for their children even if they're old. I was laughing in tears in the cinema, and I realised the gal sat beside me did the same thing :'(
There're few parts I found it very touching:

1. Royce shedding in tears in his bike after knowing his father's sickness and bought him health supplements and shoes

2. Joey girl crying while swinging alone, missing her grandpa

3. The conversation of uncle Lim on how he cant take care of his children forever

4. Vivian crying while watching his father accompany Joey girl perfoming on the stage

Of course, there're a few funny scenes too!
I actually rated this movie 4/5 because of its moral. thumbs up for the local movie industry and I can really see they're making progress! And I like the tagline, 感动着笑 (touched and laughing in tears)

Thanks but no thanks

What is the most annoying thing you hate to hear about yourself?

To me, it's 'You've gained weight, are you pregnant??' =_=

I know people around me is concern whether I'm pregnant after being married for almost a year. Thanks for the concern but hey, gaining weight doesnt really mean pregnant and vice versa!
To be honest, I know I've gained weight lately, probably because of less exercise and late dinner. But unless if I ask you 1st, otherwise, I'd appreciate if you dont give me such question.....

(Sorry, I'm that sensitive on weight :P)

11.1.11

First of all, I wanna wish my hubby Happy 2nd Anniversary! Haha, its the 2nd year since our registration ;)
You can view my blog about it here.

Anyway, CNY is approaching and as usual, many people will do their cny shopping, and do some changes from head to toe. I myself went for a hair cut last week, and also dye my hair in copper red ;)

the color is not obvious though, in the photo

and just abit of layer at the bottom

I consider this as my new year hair already, LOL. I always wanted to try for a shorter length but have no guts :P Anyway, I still prefer long hair than short ones ^^
What about you? Have you had your new year hairstyle?

Season of the witch 2011

Happy 3rd birthday to this blog! ;)
Cant believe its been 3 years since I rant everything here, LOL :D

Back to the topic, this is the 1st movie I watched in the cinema this year.

image from here

Starring: Nicholas Cage, Ron Perlman, Claire Foy

Synopsis:

14th century knight, Behmen (Nicholas Cage) is commanded to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where the monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the black plague which has killed lots of poeple. They start the adventurous mission together with another knight, a priest, an itinerant swindler and an ambitious youth. The journey turns even harder when they learn that the accused witch is not just an odinary witch.....

As a big fan of Nicholas Cage, I dont want to miss a chance to watch this movie. It turns out that, the movie isnt as good as what I've expected, the talking part is somewhat boring... But overall, I'd give a rating of 3/5 ;)

To all contact lens users

Few days ago I read an article shared by a friend in FB, it's found that there're 30 over worms grow in a girl's eyes who wear contact lens for a prolong period! :0

I'm a contact lens user for about 9 years, and 2-3 years ago I started to invest in colored lens. For all this while, I'm aware of the pros and cons of contacts, 2 main things I practice the most is to clean the lens properly and never wear contacts to sleep. As contact lens is getting more and more common, I'd like to share some infor with you...

*details taken from CIBA vision*

Contact lenses are subject to a build-up of micro-organisms and deposits. If not removed, these deposits and absorbed materials can build up on the lens surface which over time may result in the reduction of comfort and vision as well as an increased risk of contamination.

Tap water contains chlorine, minerals and metal particles, which can damage both the lenses and the eye. So they should not be used for rinsing or storing lenses.

The Five Most Important Things to Know about Lens Care

1.Cleaning and Disinfection
Cleaning and disinfecting are important to kill micro-organisms responsible for eye infections. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully for proper contact lens cleaning and disinfection.

2.Storage
Contact lenses must be stored in a proper lens case and in solutions approved for contact lens storage.

3.Re-wetting
Use drops approved for re-wetting contact lenses as needed to alleviate symptoms of lens dryness. This is not an actual lens care step, but can be used for extra comfort.

4.The Lens Case
Data indicate that lens cases are a significant source of microbial contamination. Proper lens case cleaning and frequent case replacement are essential for minimizing the risk of contamination. Always follow the directions on the packaging insert for detailed instructions on cleaning and storing your lens case. Cases should be replaced at least every three months.

5.Replacement Schedule
Different lenses are made out of different materials. Because each material performs differently, manufacturers recommend a replacement schedule for each type of lens to allow for optimal performance of the lens. Most lenses worn today are intended to be replaced on a frequent basis. Typical replacement frequencies include one day, 1 to 2 weeks and one month.
