Osaka Cakes

I saw one local bakery promoting their Osaka cake recently, bought a box to try today.

6 pieces for RM 13.80, which is quite reasonable...

Very fluffy sponge cakes!

Inside were very sweet cream filling. I love this cake!

Basically I love all kinds of cakes and used to bake quite often. But ever since pregnant, the baking mojo dissappear =_=

Anyway I heard that it's a no no for pregnant lady to approach the microwave/owen due to radiation. So this actually makes me even lazier to touch the microwave :P

I hope the baking mojo will be back after my prince is here ^^

Til then, have a pleasant evening!

Some called this Hokaido cake. Yvonne and Ms Leong bought it before. I haven't tried it yet. By the way, the carrot walnut Birthday cake is from Tian Bakery. It tasted nice. You can locate it from FB. It gives free delivery in our town.

The cake is nice, but I don't think I can finish one box.

Moreover, it cannot be kept for 2 days or more. The taste get sourish :S

this is not your normal type of cake house right? Have not seen this type here. Why is it called osaka cake?

Hayley said...

I'm not sure why it's called Osaka cakes or Hokkaido cakes, haha. I guess both are quite similar.

Yan, I can guess it's from Tian's bakery, hehe, I've ordered from her before, her cream puff is nice too!

Yvonne, yep must be consumed within 3 days, so I shared it with my friends ;)

We have this over here too. Very fluffy and soft. Love the texture. In KL, they have the Hokkaido cake. Similar to this one but blue packaging. Delicious !

I saw in Groupon they are offering classes to learn to bake Hokkaido cake! and the fees is not cheap, cost rm100 something for 3 hour class.

Kian Fai, I'm sure KL has more choices!

Claire, it's called Ipoh Bakery situated at Jalan Taming Sari.

Cinderella, I think you can give it a try, I don't mind being your guinea pig! LOL.
