Date: 22nd March 2013
We woke up to a beautiful weather on day 2 in Jeju Island. Temperature was around 2-3'c, quite tolerable except when the wind blows, brrrr....
There's a nice temple just opposite the hotel we stayed
First stop, Seongsan Ilchubong, aka Sunrise Peak, it's located at the east side of Jeju Island.
Here we are! 城山日出峰
We saw a huge group of local students there!
Our first group picture! There're a total 20 of us, not too many I'd say, compared to my previous experience.
Well, the purpose of this visit is to conquer the top of the mountain. Can you see the small roof marked in yellow? That's the target! But due to time constrain, only a few of the tour members conquered that top.
Mummy and I
The surrounding is so nice and beautiful
Actually it's not hard to climb to the top as there're staircases like this.
In the end we decided to give up climbing and went to the seaside instead
If only our country has this kind of weather and fresh air!
This mountain is an unusual volcanic cone formation.
Our decision, went down to the seaside instead
Korea is really a beautiful place, and everywhere is so clean! Even tourist spots and toilets are very clean!
We walked further down and the local ladies there shown us their freshly caught abalone. All seafood here are caught by the local aunties by diving into the deep sea.
Looks familiar to you? *wink wink*
The tour guide insisted on treating us a plate of raw abalone but we paid him back the money. The raw abalone is tasteless so have to dip with sauces. I ate only 2 pieces because I am not a fan of raw stuff, and am worried my stomach would go uneasy during the trip.
My eye bags are so obvious! *sob sob*
Actually we did not regret for not climbing to the top of the mountain, as the view here is very nice too!
Actually we are not allowed to sit on the field, so we took this shot very quickly!
Almost time to leave this beautiful place!
Saw a man selling Turkey ice cream and intended to try!
Ice cream time! If I'm not mistaken it's 3000Won (RM 9) per ice cream. Although ice cream is good to have under a hot day but yours truly prefer to eat it on a cold day! =)
On the way to our 2nd destination, we saw a lot of pretty Canola flower fields.
Then we were here at Soepjikoji, a movie set for the Korean drama 'All In', did you watch?
It started to drizzle so we did not walked further to the church
If you watch the drama, this scene should be familiar, the church and the light house
Then we saw some handsome Harley Davidson bikes nearby
We also visited the Seongeup Folk Village on the same day.
Surprisingly there're still villagers who lives here and speak their own languages
This village is well preserved, and also becomes a famous tourist spot in Jeju
Lunch this day was at a nearby restaurant, and we had this.....
BBQ spicy pork belly, quite nice!
Topped with some side dishes which are also yummy!
That's all for today! Stay tuned for more of my Korea trip and also, gift time soon! ^^
