Trip to Scandinavia 2013: Sogndal, Flam and Voss, Norway

Sogndal is another small town we visited during the trip, we stayed a night here before departing to Flam.

Very quiet town. Nothing much to see here

Spotted a nice cafe nearby the hotel

With the help of the front desk staff, we found a mini market nearby the hotel. Bought some snacks from Rimi. The guys wanted to buy some beer (beer is slightly cheaper here compared to Malaysia) and drink at the rooms, but then only we realized no alcohol is served at all convenient stores in Norway after 8pm during weekdays =_= Something new and interesting for us to remember

And payment is done very efficiently here where consumers swipe their own credit card and sign, and collect their own balance at the coin slots. Something like self service la!

I am amazed at those houses on the hill

While on the way to Flam, I saw this from inside the coach, nice right?

It's another one fine morning

This is Mr Beyond, our coach captain and Darren our tour leader. Both are professional in their career

Hubs and I, guess where were we?

We were inside the world longest tunnel, which is the Lærdal Tunnel, 24.5km. We actually stopped at one of the photo stop and take some quick photos. Love the lights here, very romantic! ;)

Here we are at Flam. It's basically a village by the sea, and a railway station with lots of gift shops

There's some boat rides here

This cruise is big!

Slightly warm here

Me outside one of the gift shop

We spent some times walking around, before boarding the train

Forgotten who is the blogger friend who asked me about wearing the hat with 2 horns, anyway here you go ;))

The surroundings are very pretty too!

This is the classic tourist train which take us from Flam to Myrdal, and eventually to Voss. The ride is about 1 hour

Half way through the train ride, we got 10 minutes photo break at one of the most spectacular waterfalls here, the Kjosfossen waterfall

Then all of sudden we heard some loud music and then a fairy came out to dance! Can you spot her? ^^

Erm actually not 1 but 2 (may be 3) fairies!

Here we are at Myrdal, waiting to transfer to Voss. Spotted this handsome/beautiful dog!

Finally, after hours of bus ride and train ride, we reached Voss!

Stopped by here for lunch actually

Journey continued to the 2nd largest city of Norway, Bergen! Stay tuned ya? Bergen is surely an interesting city to blog about~

  3. This post is interesting enough to amuse me! They are so strict in alcohol selling - must be the laws to keep the men at home sober with the families. This is good and healthy for family bonding & happiness instead of coming home drunk and puke at the wives at night.

  9. I always love to visit village because of the beautiful landscape and scenery. Even the weather is fresh compared to the city.

The tunnel is interesting, purple blue in colour. Isn't safe to take picture at there? Although it is a photo stop, but it seems that all of you stand at the middle of the road.

The fairies singing part is interesting, 好像阿里山的姑娘。。。 ^^

Can't wait for you to blog about Bergen since you said it is an interesting city. :)

    1. It's not safe to be honest, but tour leader already informed us to be careful and stand at the side. And we actually snapped very quickly then went back to the coach.
