Getting better.........

Hello guys!

If you read my previous post, I mentioned that weather is super hot here in Taiping, everyday it's more than 38'C, no kidding! And with this kinda weather, people with poor immune system (like myself) fall sick easily!

So, I had a terrible terrible sore throat, fever and flu on Saturday evening, I guess things started to become worse after the shower I took on that evening, as I was feeling ok during the day.
I got no energy to do anything but just to lie on bed.
It was late at night when I finally able to get up and visit the clinic, thank God I can still find one which is opened!

Doctor said I had a red and very swollen throat but he said it's not tonsillitis. Prescribed me some medicines and asked me to drink lots of lots of water.

I was bedridden for almost 2 days, in fact I think I sleep the most these 2 days, haha! Thanks to the in laws for looking after Aden and brought him out.

Now, I am recovering. Fever subsided (I hope) and still with mild sore throat, but at least I already got the energy to do some thing.

I think the root problem is sore throat, once I get it then the rest of those evils like flu and fever will come. I don't know about you but I get sore throat very easily, I think my immune system really gets weaker! (Does that means I am getting older? Sob sob...)

I Google for natural remedy for sore throat and here's what I found:
1. Saltwater gargle
2. Lozenges and sprays
3. Fluids
4. Herbal tea
5. Chicken soup
6. Marshmallows
7. Rest
8. Antibiotics

Do you have other remedy to share?

  2. I had a terrible cough sometime back, lost my voice. Ok now...but my voice is not completely back yet - no karaoke singing in the meantime. :(

  3. Glad to hear that you are recovering. Do take good care. Drink lots of water and my other remedy is sleep a lot. Get enough sleep and the immune system will be stronger.

  5. oh, so sorry to hear that you are down with sorethroat, fever and flu!! OMG, i hope by the time you have finished writing this post, you are already on bed and having a good rest already.. i think rest is very important to recover yourself from sickness leh..

    1. i know it's very hot and i have been sweating like badak sumbu, but didn't know the temperature is over 38°C.. wow, that is crazy huh?? and yes, weather like this and we can get sick easily if we are not taking care of ourselves.. so you sama-sama fell sick together with ChrisAu, both of you were sick over the past weekend and bedridden for two days..

    2. i think it's not bat at all to fall sick 久久一次 la.. 小病是福 mah, and i think after sick your immune system will surely improved and power up a lot.. and you can also take the chance to really have a good rest and then 調養調養身子.. just let your in-laws take care of Aden lah.. :p

    3. really all kinds of remedies you can find from the internet lah, but then maybe it has to depends on individual also.. some may work on others but not on you.. haha!! so the most basic thing is, drink enough water and get enough of rest.. which i would add into the list as item 9 and 10 :)

  6. Hi, u can try to drink apple cider vinegar. If u find it is too sour u may add some honey ;)

  7. Add 2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water. For faster result, take twice a day

  9. Three legs brand cooling water is good for removing body heatiness, try it but I wonder is it available in Malaysia?

  12. Oh yes, you are right.. The culprit is always the throat.. After G recovered last week, my turn to get it.. It started with a throat discomfort.. Then at night, the fever & flu came.. I hate the throat, haha..

I was also down with sore throat recently... then cough.. and I didn't take any medicine though I went to the hospital to take cough mixture.. what I did was gurgle salt when I woke up, really salty water about 10-20 seconds.. and did that two to three times daily.. i drank kum kat sui.. and also dissolve the Vit C into glass of water 2 times.. It heals without taking any medication... :)

  14. Like what sk said , we both fall sick over the last weekend. Mine also started with a sore throat. Though I recovered now, my throat all swollen and I revisit the doc again who prescribed me some anti inflammatory meds. I also stock up on vit c and get more herbal tea to drink. Take care.

  19. Muahahahaha...you sound like a grumpy old grandma when sick. So nice that your in laws took care of your precious baby boy.

    I would use the Lavender's Pure Essential Oils to rub outside the throat and all the sores will disappear fast.

    For sore throat, my household would usually use an apple cider solution as a gargle to relieve it. ^^
