2D1N Hatyai trip

I have been to Hatyai many times and I am not bored of it yet, haha!! xD
It's one of my favorite place to go, I mean considering the fact that I can't really travel oversea at the moment (no money and no time).
But traveling to Hatyai is still consider 'oversea' la right? 😆 It's just that we go there by car instead of plane.... Just 2 hours plus to reach kastam, almost like from Taiping to KL.

We had a short getaway to Hatyai last month, it was 2 days after the Songkran festival. We tagged Aden and Toby along so hubby suggested to avoid that festival.

Journey was smooth from Taiping all the way to the kastam, just the queue at the kastam was a bit tiring. We managed to check in early, lucky!

We stayed at Grand Pink hotel, I simply love this hotel because the room is big and clean! Staff service is nice too! Highly recommended, heard it's been refurnished lately. It's located next to Lee Garden Plaza so it's easy to find!

I also love the spacious bathroom with the big bathtub!

The boys skipped their morning bath (we left home at 5am, both still sleeping) so when they see the bathtub, they just couldn't resist! xD

Bathroom always had the best light! 😃

Swensen and McD are something I won't miss whenever I go Hatyai, they are easily located (at Lee Garden Plaza) and are cheap! Most importantly, they are yummy!!

We spent the afternoon wandering around the city area before sending Toby back to the room for his afternoon nap~

Big brother Aden was still very energetic!

I sneak out for a nice foot massage while Toby was still napping (just outside the hotel), syok!

After dinner, we took a tuk tuk ride to Greenway night market and Asean night bazaar.

It was Toby's second tuk tuk ride and Aden's third

Spent another hour plus walking nearby Odean market for their food festival, a lot of cute and unique food stalls, if only my tummy is big enough to try all!! Hehe!

Then we just rest at the hotel, everyone were tired already!

The next morning, the boys continue to have their dip in the bathtub~

Another tuk tuk ride to the morning market for our last round of shopping before checking out

Din't really shop much this time (mostly were snacks) but it was alright, at least  I got a short holiday spent with the people I loved ;)

  1. I should plan for Haadyai too.. love Thai food though.

  2. I also cannot resist bath tub, if go travel, usually I will get a bottle of bath foam, if the hotel has bath tub, pour the bath foam into the bath tub with full of water and soak inside there, hehe...

    1. Yea, it feels so relaxing like that!!

  3. what a nice and enjoyable short getaway for the whole family! fun for both Toby and Aden!

  4. I like and enjoy Tuk Tuk rides and I like to go to night markets also, a lot of things to see

    1. The hotel room looks very cosy

    2. The hotel room is indeed cosy and nice, not expensive also..

  5. So long I didn't go Hatyai. I miss shopping there so much!

    1. I still remember the trip we went together few years ago!

  6. So nice for the boys to enjoy overseas holiday. I have never been to Hatyai. Heard the shopping is great there.

    1. Yep, nice! You can plan a trip there during school holidays =)

  7. Ekkkkk!!! So cute, your two boys in the bath tub. LOL!!! Bet you had a great holiday with your family. Been so long since we went anywhere - two very old folks at home, hard to get away for long, just a couple of days only at the most.

    1. We had a great holiday!
Aiyah, you still ok la! Must grab the chance to go jalan jalan while we can!

  8. 我想计划个Hatyai short trip啊!尤其回乡时,应该比较容易安排过去。我喜欢泰国餐啊按摩啊!你们常过去的真爽!

    1. 你回乡时最适合了,很靠近啊!!呵呵!

  9. Very nice family getaway! Everyone was enjoying themselves :)

  10. You just shared very lovely & happy family photos! Your 2 boys are always so cute!

My wife always loved going to Hatyai compared to Bangkok. I also miss this place very much if you remember that I grew up at my grandpa's house in Songkhla when he was the CPO of South Thailand. I like your spacious hotel room and will stay there next time. Luckily you didn't stay next door which is now famously "HxxxTxD" after so many fellas died in the basement carpark after the big flood incident. I heard stories of knocking doors from the town folks. LOLOL

    1. Thanks for your kind compliments TM.

I love both Hatyai and Bangkok actually, haha!
Oh, I don't know which hotel you meant, can't guess la, but sounds terrible lo!!

  11. I wish I can have this "anytime getaway" to Thailand too :(
I miss "扫街" eat all those Thai street food and crazy shopping at their 7-11~

    1. But you seems ok also, weekend always go gai gai ;)
Yep, their 7-11 are so nice to shop!

  12. So nice you can just drive there. For us to drive to Thailand from KL will be crazy :(

    1. Hmm, you can choose to stay between Taiping or Penang a night and then travel to the border the next day, not so tiring.

  13. such a pleasant trip u had there....I like the spacious hotel room...especially the bathtub too!

  14. Hi Hayley, love the pics you posted here, and yes, I too used to love Hatyai long ago, been there many times too, wayyyy back late '70s, early '80s. Great Thai food too.
Its good you get both your kinds traveling experience. Can see they very good kids.
I long took a train trip, KL to Bangkok return....with a was cheap then.

I'm now planning to drive to our 4 Atlantic Provinces, have a holiday sightseeing those places of interest. Going to be a long drive, like KL to Beijing.
You have a nice weekend, keep well,

    1. Can plan for another Thailand trip already =)

Wow, really a long drive! With your wife?
Got to take care and stay safe ya!

  15. Hayley.. is the Asean night market far away from the central ?

    1. Erm, not really, probably about 10-15 mins...

好久好久没来篇像样的华语post咯! 今天就算牺牲美容觉也得呕出一篇来回馈我亲爱的读者朋友们,我知道有时看太多鸡肠对眼睛不好 xDD 怎样,我抵錫吗?:p
Hmm

BFF trip to Bangkok 2013: The food post

Bangkok is not only a heaven for the men shopping but also food! I've actually Google and blog hopping beforehand to see what's worth to eat at Bangkok, can only chose the most popular ones as we were there for only 4 days 3 nights, a very rush trip.
I've filtered out those food we ate during the trip which I think worth mentioning.
@ Food court, Platinum Mall Green curry chicken rice
Beef noodles
Fruit crepe
The food court is so big here in Platinum Mall, hundreds of tables are provided but almost all are occupied.

Dessert @ Swensen, Platinum Mall

(pale looking face, first day after touching down) Swensen is not in my itinerary, we decided to go here instead of Mr Jones Orphanage at Siam Center cause of the location. Siam Center is further away from where we stay, but Platinum Mall is just about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. End up, no regrets! Much cheaper and yummier compared to Malaysia.

T&K seafood, Chinatown  (It's easier to get here by metered cab)

By far…
