2012 Winter Trip: First part of Washington, D.C

Good day folks!
I want to quickly blog about my US trip before 2012 ends, hehe.
Washington, the capital city of US is the first stop for our US trip, but it's only a short stay, only one night. But I think we covered those famous spots already.
Knowing that we are going to Washington, President Obama was re-elected a day before we reached Washington. Wakaka *muka tebal* :P
Hubs and I at Toronto airport, taking Air Canada to Washington, the flight is about 1 hour plus only

Upon reaching Washington, we had our lunch at one of the shopping mall

CVS pharmacy. I really love the express checkout system! Just scan your own items and pay, very quickly done, certainly can avoid waiting at the long queues at the cashier

We passed by the Pentagon

The national mall and memorial park, also the Washington monument. Photo taken in the coach
Then we arrived at the White House, the official residence and principal workplace for the president of US. Of course we can't go in so this is the nearest spot to take photos.

There were constructions in the front

Saw a group of people with their cool bikes! Hmm not sure what is it called though :P

We also walked around the place and got closer to the Washington Monument, built to commemorate the first American president, General George Washington.
You may notice there are several shots which I sat on the grass. I don't know but I find these pictures very natural, hehe. I don't mind to dirty my pants! :P

Squirrels are everywhere and they are very daring! Unlike those at our countries!

Very strong wind! But Washington is slightly warmer than Canada, weather is still tolerable for me there

Next station was the Lincoln Memorial, built to honor the 16th president of US, Abraham Lincoln.

Hah! I have seen enough of the huge him in movies (such as Night at the Museum & Transformer), now finally get to see him in real person!

The Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument is somehow at the same line...

The background is also one of the scene you might remember in the movie Transformer

After visiting this place, we gotto walk all the way to the other side to take the bus. It was a very long evening walk, probably about 2-3km?
Here's me. How, got look like celebrity or not? Kekekeke *blek*
There's still another post of Washington which I'll share next, after that, it'll be all about NYC! So please bear with me ya! ^^

  1. America now! Woot~~

This place is like the home for all US presidents, huh?
    Sort of like our Putrajaya?

    1. Did you count how many presidents you "visited" in a day? Kekeke!

    2. Yvonne, yea cause its the capital ma!

      LOL, err I think 2? :P

  2. Hi Hayley,

You are very lucky to visit Washington DC; home of the Presidents. Was it guarded strictly? I wonder how they could live inside with all the tourists walking around.

Oh the photo sitting on the grass are nice. Who took the photo of the two of you? That person must be kind.

The Abraham Lincoln statue? That's my favourite! I saw it in the movie too (night at the museum). Too bad you stayed there for one night. If more, probably you'll see many other interesting stuff in Washington DC.

p/s: Have a nice day Hayley.

    1. Willie, yes very strict. We cant go any closer.

It was one of the tour member who took the photo for us ;)

  4. so just a short stay in DC and basically you spent most of the time around the National Mall and Monument.. haha, yeah you reminded me of the movies.. not only Transformers but many others lah..

    1. Yea many others but Transformer more famous ma!

  5. yeah I like the idea of that express checkout, just "toot" and pay, but then would there be somebody who intentionally left few items not "toot"?? haha.. that could cause problem too..

    1. Well I think thats unavoidable, but may be just a rare few cases la~

  6. yeah with such nice weather, it's nice to sit on the grass, gives a more lively feel to the photo.. if can, I also would like to lay on the grass and look into the clear blue sky, how relaxing!!

    1. Yea but grass field at our country dirty or not? =P

  7. Can't remember what the bikes are called too but its available in malaysia now.

好久好久没来篇像样的华语post咯! 今天就算牺牲美容觉也得呕出一篇来回馈我亲爱的读者朋友们,我知道有时看太多鸡肠对眼睛不好 xDD 怎样,我抵錫吗?:p
Hmm

BFF trip to Bangkok 2013: The food post

Bangkok is not only a heaven for the men shopping but also food! I've actually Google and blog hopping beforehand to see what's worth to eat at Bangkok, can only chose the most popular ones as we were there for only 4 days 3 nights, a very rush trip.
I've filtered out those food we ate during the trip which I think worth mentioning.
@ Food court, Platinum Mall Green curry chicken rice
Beef noodles
Fruit crepe
The food court is so big here in Platinum Mall, hundreds of tables are provided but almost all are occupied.

Dessert @ Swensen, Platinum Mall

(pale looking face, first day after touching down) Swensen is not in my itinerary, we decided to go here instead of Mr Jones Orphanage at Siam Center cause of the location. Siam Center is further away from where we stay, but Platinum Mall is just about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. End up, no regrets! Much cheaper and yummier compared to Malaysia.

T&K seafood, Chinatown  (It's easier to get here by metered cab)

By far…

To Penang again

Another Penang trip sponsored by my brother <3

The last staycation at Penang was during April (Click HERE to read).

Driving to Penang is easy for me, just about an hour, smooth drive along the highway and on the bridge, slightly jam from Gurney towards Batu Ferringhi though~

And here we are! This time we checked into Park Royal resort again, because we got a complimentary upgrade to suite rooms as promised by the manager 😁
The lounge area is now opened after refurnished, very big and comfortable place
Waiting to check in, wefie first la! 😄
Welcome drinks

Check-in was fast, the boys can't wait to see the rooms!

The room is big and nice with all basic necessities, nothing much to complain la haha!

Complimentary snacks and nutmeg juice

It has a smaller toilet outside...

... and a bigger one with bathtub near the bed. Needless to say, my sons were the most excited ones when they see the bathtub! 😊

Without wasting times, we changed into our swimming attires and off to the…
