Short trip to Ipoh

Staying at Taiping is consider good if we are traveling up North to Penang (just 50 minutes drive away) and also Ipoh (just 30 minutes drive away). Just few weeks ago we dropped by Penang, then few days later we dropped by Ipoh, but this time with sister and mother in law ;)

Visited the famous Concubine lane, 二奶巷 (Don't ask me why this name, go Google it ^^)

Basically it's a small street with a few specialty shops (to attract outstation visitors and tourists)

So here's with Aden, and his newly bought Iron Man toy as well as his stinky pillow. This boy now brings his pillow almost everywhere he goes, he seems to be inseparable with it even though he is growing to be a big boy *sweat*

There's a few dessert shops here but we din't plan to dine there (saving our appetite for Ipoh's nga choy kai and custard eggs later)

And then we walked to 三奶巷 which is just nearby. This street is less interesting, nothing much to see, just the umbrellas on top as main attraction

Sis in law bought a plastic spec for Aden, well this is how he is going to look like if he really wear specs in the future (I reckon so la, since hubby and I are both short-sighted, so high chances that our children will be the same too =_=")

Yummy caramel custard egg! Miss this so much! But one is more than enough, it's just too sweet~
Actually we also tapao the famous Hong Kei egg tarts, and had Lou Wong's nga choy kai as dinner before leaving (but no pictures for those)

Leaving the heritage lanes, we move on to Aeon Station 18. Just a few hours of shopping before traveling back home~

Aden in one of the indoor play center at Aeon mall

So where's Toby? He was at home with my mother =) Decided not to bring him along since hubby is not around, I am not that adventurous taking 2 boys with me outstation on my own :p

It was just like half a day of jalan jalan cari makan trip, and it was nowhere fancy, but I enjoyed it. A stay at home mum like me is desperately in need of breaks like this, LOL!

  2. yalor.. from Ipoh to Penang or Taiping is really convenient lah, just less than an hour's drive!! it is just like we drive from one place to another within Klang Valley..

i wonder when exactly did you go to Ipoh?? i was there last week leh, haha!! but you were there only for half a day, probably the chance of bumping into you is very very low lah.. you went to the 二奶街, i actually went there to have 雞絲河粉 in an old kopitiam just opposite the lane only, friend brought us there so i cannot remember the name of the kopitiam already leh..

Aden is growing up fast, now a 大哥哥 already.. and he looks cute with the spec frame on, haha!! errr, but i think if *touch wood* he needs a pair of glasses, you won't buy him this type of frame gua?? hehehe.. this that your SIL bought just for fun only lah, but actually Aden really looks cute in that woh~~ :D

so nice you can leave behind Toby to your mom to take care of him and then you go 街街 with Aden to Ipoh.. a half day trip would be nice lah, if one whole day then sure you will be tiring also, and i guess you will also be missing Toby a lot.. and of course, 久久一次出遊 will be more 珍貴 lor hor?? if ask you to go outstation trip often, you also 顯 lah right?? hehehe~~ :)

  12. I love Aden's cute face with the big specs like an actor from Harry Porter's movie! Hope he will be a child actor someday, ok? He is photogenic.

I love that sweet custard as Ipoh has the best! There are 2 shops in KL that sells the exact custards and the bosses are from Ipoh too. In case you want to share with KL friends, they can go to Sing Kei Coffee Shop in Taman Desa and the Annie-1 restaurant in Damansara Uptown.
The attractive umbrellas hanging has become a trend now in overseas and Malaysia. I am not sure who started this brilliant idea of decors.

  13. Living in Taiping really has its perks, can go to Penang and Ipoh to jalan jalan cari makan whenever you feel like it since they are both considered near.

Aden is so cute with the specs. Does he bring the pillow to school too?

I remember why it's called Concubine Lane, went on a Tourism Malaysia trip once. Interesting history, Ipoh.

近期所用的美容产品分享篇

*还没参加抽奖游戏的朋友们,快快按这里吧~ 到今晚10点罢了哦!* (For those who have not participate in the Bangkok giveaway, click HERE before 10pm today!* *帮我的家换了形象,还好吧?^^ *
好久好久没来篇像样的华语post咯! 今天就算牺牲美容觉也得呕出一篇来回馈我亲爱的读者朋友们,我知道有时看太多鸡肠对眼睛不好 xDD 怎样,我抵錫吗?:p
Hmm

BFF trip to Bangkok 2013: The food post

Bangkok is not only a heaven for the men shopping but also food! I've actually Google and blog hopping beforehand to see what's worth to eat at Bangkok, can only chose the most popular ones as we were there for only 4 days 3 nights, a very rush trip.
I've filtered out those food we ate during the trip which I think worth mentioning.
@ Food court, Platinum Mall Green curry chicken rice
Beef noodles
Fruit crepe
The food court is so big here in Platinum Mall, hundreds of tables are provided but almost all are occupied.

Dessert @ Swensen, Platinum Mall

(pale looking face, first day after touching down) Swensen is not in my itinerary, we decided to go here instead of Mr Jones Orphanage at Siam Center cause of the location. Siam Center is further away from where we stay, but Platinum Mall is just about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. End up, no regrets! Much cheaper and yummier compared to Malaysia.

T&K seafood, Chinatown  (It's easier to get here by metered cab)

By far…

2D1N Hatyai trip

I have been to Hatyai many times and I am not bored of it yet, haha!! xD
It's one of my favorite place to go, I mean considering the fact that I can't really travel oversea at the moment (no money and no time).
But traveling to Hatyai is still consider 'oversea' la right? 😆 It's just that we go there by car instead of plane.... Just 2 hours plus to reach kastam, almost like from Taiping to KL.

We had a short getaway to Hatyai last month, it was 2 days after the Songkran festival. We tagged Aden and Toby along so hubby suggested to avoid that festival.

Journey was smooth from Taiping all the way to the kastam, just the queue at the kastam was a bit tiring. We managed to check in early, lucky!

We stayed at Grand Pink hotel, I simply love this hotel because the room is big and clean! Staff service is nice too! Highly recommended, heard it's been refurnished lately. It's located next to Lee Garden Plaza so it's easy to find!
I also love the spacious bathro…
